Aside from our big weekend events, we have many smaller activities throughout the month. From fighter practices to arts and crafts nights, check the shire calendar to see what’s happening locally and in our surrounding area.
Past Fun Activities We’ve Done
Bardics – We’ve spent evenings by the fire sharing songs, stories, and laughter. Voices rise into the night, weaving history, legend, and friendship into a living tapestry of the Current Middle Ages.
Moon/Maple Viewing – We’ve wandered to beautiful spots to watch the moon rise or to sit in quiet contemplation of nature, drawing on traditions of the Far East to step into a medieval Asian experience.
Garb Scavenger Photo Hunt – We’ve donned our best medieval clothing, followed a list of unique places and activities, and captured fun photos of ourselves exploring the beauty of Utah Valley.
Archery Practice – We’ve taken up bows and arrows, felt the thrill of hitting a target, and lived up to Arrow’s Flight’s name with every well-aimed shot.
Long Sword Drills – We’ve studied the moves and forms of the Old Sword Masters, feeling the weight of the blade as we practice the art of the longsword.
The Shire at the Library – We’ve rented out a room at the Provo Library, filled it with medieval fun, made crafts, and watched our fighters suit up and duel—without anyone shushing us.
Masked Ball -We’ve danced beneath flickering candlelight at a masquerade ball, faces hidden behind ornate masks, the air alive with music, mystery, and the thrill of not knowing who might take our hand next.
